	Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) http://ec.europa.eu The European Commission presents a strategic plan to accelerate the development and deployment of cost-effective low carbon technologies.

	SET-Plan Steering Group (SET-Group) http://ec.europa.eu The group established by the European Commission, in order to steer the implementation of the SET-Plan thus reinforcing the coherence between national, European and international efforts.

	SET-Plan Information System (SETIS) http://setis.ec.europa.eu/ SETIS is a tool to aid the decision making of the European Community Steering Group for Strategic Energy Technologies, thus supporting the European Energy Technology Policy.

European stakeholders and networks

	European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) http://www.eera-set.eu An alliance founded by 10 leading European Research Institutes, whose key objective is to accelerate the development of new energy technologies by conceiving and implementing Joint Research Programmes in support of the SET-plan.

	Implementing Geological Disposal of Radioactive Waste Technology Platform (IDG-TP) http://www.igdtp.eu/ The mission of the IGD-TP is to be a tool to support confidence-building in the safety and implementation of deep geological disposal solutions.

	European Technical Safety Organisations Network (ETSON) http://www.etson.eu The aim of this network is to promote and develop European scientific and technical co-operation between the TSOs in the field of nuclear safety. Since May 2006, the Technical Safety Organisations (TSOs) Bel V (formerly AVN, B), GRS (D) and IRSN (F) have been working together in the European TSO Network ETSON. The Network was extended by the Czech and Finnish TSOs UJV and VTT in 2008 on the occasion of the 10thEUROSAFE Forum.

European Nuclear Energy Forum (ENEF)

The European Nuclear Energy Forum (ENEF) is a unique platform for a broad discussion, free of any taboos, on transparency issues as well as the opportunities and risks of nuclear energy. Founded in 2007, ENEF gathers all relevant stakeholders in the nuclear field: governments of the 27 EU Member States, European Institutions including the European Parliament and the European Economic and Social Committee, nuclear industry, electricity consumers and the civil society.

European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN)

The "European Nuclear Engineering Network" project was launched under the 5th framework EC programme in January 2002. It established the basis for conserving nuclear knowledge and expertise, created a European High Education Area for nuclear disciplines, and initiated the implementation of the Bologna declaration in nuclear disciplines. The European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN) Association was established afterwards on the basis of the European High Education Area by the partners of the "European Nuclear Engineering Network" project.

Nugenia

NUGENIA is an association dedicated to the research and development of nuclear fission technologies, with a focus on Generation II and III nuclear plants. It gathers stakeholders from industry, research, safety organisations and academia, committed to develop joint R&D projects in the field.

The European Atomic Forum (FORATOM) is the Brussels-based trade association for the nuclear energy industry in Europe. Its main purpose is to promote the use of nuclear energy in Europe by representing the interests of this important and multi-faceted industrial sector.

National and Regional Networks

	Center for Reactor Information http://www.sustainablenuclear.org/ The Center for Reactor Information (CFRI) is an independent organization dedicated to increasing public awareness that nuclear energy is truly sustainable that uranium can provide the world with safe, abundant, economical, and environmentally friendly energy for as long as desired.

HOTLAB network

The project was intended to assess the European hot laboratories research capacities and its aptitude for supporting the nuclear industrial and research community both at present and in the future. An inventory of the present research capabilities of several European hot laboratories (HOTLAB PIE catalogue) was collected as well as a list of nuclear transport casks available within Europe.

	Nordic and Swedish Network for Generation IV Nuclear Power Reactors http://vp081.alertir.com/ A Nordic Nuclear Materials Forum for research on Generation IV nuclear power reactors is used to spread the knowledge of nuclear materials for GenIV within the Nordic countries, to exchange information and to gather the partners in a Nordic network.

	GEN4FIN, Finnish research network for Generation IV nuclear energy systems http://virtual.vtt.fi/ The main mission of the Finnish Generation IV network is to improve scientific and technologic expertise in the field of nuclear energy technologies and related processes through collaboration with GIF and other global forums.

Hungarian Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform

The Hungarian Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform was launched in summer 2010. The main goal of the Platform is to coordinate the nuclear energy research and development activities in Hungary, taking into account:

the needs of the existing units of the Hungarian nuclear power plant,
the possible requirements of the new units to be built,
the development of the future significant Generation IV nuclear power plants as well as the problems of the fuel cycle.

International Bodies

	International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) http://www.iaea.org/ The IAEA is the world´s center of cooperation in the nuclear field. It was set up as the world´s "Atoms for Peace" organization in 1957 within the United Nations family. The Agency works with its Member States and multiple partners worldwide to promote safe, secure and peaceful nuclear technologies.

	OECD-Nuclear Energy Agency http://www.nea.fr/ The Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) is a specialised agency within the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), an intergovernmental organisation of industrialised countries, based in Paris, France.

	World Nuclear Association http://www.world-nuclear.org/ The World Nuclear Association is the international organization that promotes nuclear energy and supports the many companies that comprise the global nuclear industry.

	Generation IV International Forum http://www.gen-4.org/ The Generation IV International Forum (GIF) is a cooperative international endeavor organized to carry out the research and development (R&D) needed to establish the feasibility and performance capabilities of the next generation nuclear energy systems.
